American Express has a unique Membership Rewards loyalty programme whereby Cardmembers can earn Points for virtually every US$/€1 charged to their Card (points are not earned on Cash Advances; Travellers Cheques, Foreign Exchange or Express Cash transactions; or any charges on the account). These points can be used in literally hundreds of ways, from free flights and hotel accommodation to car hire and restaurant meals.

How can Cardmembers keep track of their points?
They will receive a monthly Membership Rewards statement with their Card statement. New points are credited one month after they have been billed providing they have settled their account. The statement also tells the Cardmember about any special offers and bonus opportunities. Alternatively they can view their Membership Rewards account and view the available rewards at www.americanexpress.com/iecrewards

What can Cardmembers redeem their points against and how often?
There are thousands of redemption offers available each year, details of which are included in our annual Membership Rewards brochure, or available online. Points can be redeemed against rewards as many times per year as desired.

How can Cardmembers redeem their Membership Rewards points?
Once the first summary of Membership Rewards points earned is received, the Cardmember can call Membership Rewards Customer Services on +44 (0) 1273 864 864 or visit www.americanexpress.com/idcrewards

Can Supplementary Cardmembers redeem Membership Rewards Points?
No, only the basic Cardmember can redeem on Membership Rewards points. Additionally, the basic Cardmember can also give authorisation to a third party who can redeem on their behalf.

Can I facilitate MR Redemption on behalf of my client?
Yes, this can be arranged through the completion of a Third Party Authorisation form which must be signed by your client.This form is available under the 'Other Forms' tab.

Can a Cardmember transfer Membership Rewards points from one American Express Card to another?
Yes, Cardmembers who have more than one American Express Card can transfer Membership Rewards points from one account to the other once a year. To do this, they simply need to call the Membership Rewards team on +44 (0) 1273 864 864.

How can a Cardmember transfer Membership Rewards points to an American Express partner programme?
In order to transfer Membership Rewards points to a partner programme, the Cardmember can go online at www.americanexpress.com/dollar (for Dollar) or www.americanexpress.com/euro (for Euro) under ‘Programme Information’ or call the Membership Rewards team on +44 (0) 1273 864 864.

No, it is only possible to redeem points on one of the Membership Rewards Partner Programmes.

How much does it cost to enrol in Membership Rewards programme?
For Green and Business Cardmembers, enrolment into our Membership Rewards programme is free for the first year and $/€35.25 per annum thereafter. For Gold, Platinum and Centurion Cardmembers, they receive complimentary enrolment into our Membership Rewards Programme.

If my client cancels their Card, can they still redeem their Membership Rewards points?
Yes, once their card is cancelled, they have a 90 day period in which to redeem their remaining Membership Reward points.

Do my client’s Membership Rewards points ever expire?
No, they will never expire whilst the Cardmember is enrolled into the Membership Rewards Programme.
